Srirangam

Srirangam is a historic temple town located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s renowned for its Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, which is one of the largest temple complexes in India and is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, a reclining form of the Hindu deity Vishnu. The temple is situated on an island formed by the Kaveri River and its tributaries.
The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus and attracts devotees from all over the world. The temple complex is vast and comprises seven enclosures or prakaras, with numerous intricately carved pillars, shrines, halls, and gopurams (towering gateways). The architecture of the temple is a stunning example of Dravidian style, with its towering gopurams adorned with colorful sculptures depicting various mythological stories.

Tiruvannaikovil

Tiruvanaikoil, also known as Thiruvanaikaval, is another significant temple town located near Srirangam in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is famous for its Jambukeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is one of the Pancha Bhoota Stalas, representing the element of water (Jala), and is considered one of the holiest Shiva temples in Tamil Nadu.

Thanjavore big temple

The “Big Temple” in Thanjavur, also known as Brihadeeswarar Temple or Peruvudaiyar Kovil, is one of the most iconic and magnificent temples in India. It was built by the Chola emperor Raja Raja Chola I in the 11th century AD. This temple is an outstanding example of Dravidian architecture and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Brihadeeswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and features a massive lingam (an abstract representation of the deity) housed in the inner sanctum. The most remarkable feature of the temple is its towering vimana (the temple tower), which rises to a height of about 66 meters (216 feet) and is capped with a massive stone monolithic dome weighing around 81 tons. This dome was carved out of a single piece of granite and was lifted to the top of the vimana without the use of modern machinery.

Punnai nallur Amman temple

The Punnainallur Mariamman Temple is a well-known Hindu temple located in Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is dedicated to Mariamman, a form of the goddess Parvati. The temple is famous for its festivals, especially during the Tamil month of Chithirai (April-May) when the annual festival takes place. During this time, devotees from various places gather to participate in the festivities, which include processions, rituals, and cultural events.
Mariamman is revered as a powerful deity associated with protection and healing, particularly from diseases and ailments. Devotees visit the temple seeking blessings and relief from health issues. The Punnainallur Mariamman Temple is not only a place of worship but also an important cultural and religious landmark in the region.

Palace

If you’re referring to a palace in Thanjavur, the most notable one is the Thanjavur Maratha Palace. Also known as the Aranmanai, it is a royal palace located in the heart of Thanjavur city, Tamil Nadu, India. The palace complex was originally constructed by the Nayaks of Thanjavur in the 16th century but was later renovated and expanded by the Maratha rulers of Thanjavur in the 17th century.
The Thanjavur Maratha Palace is known for its architectural grandeur and historical significance. It consists of several structures, including the Sadar Mahal Palace, the Durbar Hall, the Saraswathi Mahal Library, and various courtyards and gardens.
